Sarah and Jerry have been married for five years. They wanted to experience some excitement and fun before they decided to have a family and so they consciously constructed an exceptionally exciting social life.
The major difficulty, however, is that very nearly everything they do for excitement includes drinking. For example, all of the parties with friends, dinner engagements, happy hours, sporting events, and family get-togethers they spend time at include drinking.

One Sunday evening while watching the television, Sarah and Jerry flipped through the channels and discovered a remarkable program about the signs of alcoholism.
This television special was a real realization to Jerry and Sarah because many of the alcoholism signs that were gone over looked as if they were indubitably linked to numerous alcohol-related drinking problems Jerry and Sarah had been experiencing.
An Honest Dialogue About Drinking Behavior Brings to Light Alcohol Related Legal, Employment, Health, Relationship, and Financial Problems
After watching the TV documentary, Sarah and Jerry arrived at a decision to have an honest conversation about their drinking condition. They both agreed that most, if not all, of their social activities had something to do with drinking, that they were drinking in an excessive manner, and that as a couple, they were starting to see alcohol related financial, health, legal, employment, and relationship problems for the first time in their lives.
With thoughts of the TV program still fresh in her mind, Sarah asked Jerry if some of the alcohol addiction signs they have been exhibiting could be a signal that they are alcohol dependent or possibly becoming alcohol dependent. Jerry didn’t know the answer to Sarah’s inquiry and so he recommended that they make an appointment with one of the doctors at the local alcohol rehab clinic to find out more about the severity of their drinking difficulties.

Just before she fell asleep, Sarah turned to Jerry and observed how easy it is to reduce one’s apprehension and actually experience a sense of calm by tackling one’s problems head-on and choosing to do something positive about them.
