In the area of creating abundance much of the focus is placed on the Law of Attraction. There is another law, the Law of Repulsion. I first heard about it when I was reading How to Solve All of Your Money Problems Forever. Victor Boc, the author, makes the promise offered in the title without hesitation.

The Law of Repulsion is founded on a simple idea but very insightful. Many people use the practices of the Law of Attraction without success and wonder what’s wrong. They think the law isn’t working instead of questioning how their actions aren’t working. Boc’s teaching of the Law of Repulsion makes logical sense.

If we can pull something to us, doesn’t it make sense that we can also repulse it? Naturally, that does make sense, but you’re asking yourself, if you really desire something, why would you repel it. Of course, that’s a great question. The answer is that the repelling takes place mainly subconsciously.

If something was not stopping the attracting process then all people would have everything they are wanting. Sadly, that is not so. In fact, the majority of people do not attract what they want.

That is when the Law of Repulsion comes into effect. We send  confusing messages to the Universe. I desire lots of money, but I also think only greedy people have lots of money. I desire people to respect me but I don’t respect myself. I want to be as thin and beautiful as the top models, but I don’t take care of my body.

The piece of the equation that influences this dynamic is how much energy that goes into each belief? Does the positive piece receive the most energy or the negative piece? It is that clear. Remember that all life is energy. When the positive receives the most energy, it is attracting and when the negative is receiving the most it is repelling.

The interaction is very profound. When we take into account numbers, the best case scenario is 100% attracting and 0% repelling. A stand off is 50/50. We can say that you must pull something to you with at least 51% of the energy. That would be the worst case situation in attracting. So, the difference is a mere 1% between attracting and repelling.

The good news is that surely we can turn around 1%. How do we do that? We  look at the pros and the cons of what we desire. We fine tune what we do. Is it too simple?

I think we have a tendency to make life hard. We are programmed in so many ways to think we must work hard to have something. That’s how the saying, work smart not hard, came to be.

“It’s not worth having if you don’t work for it.” Tell that to the latest lottery winner. Please don’t misunderstand me. I’m not saying we don’t have to put energy into what we want, but it really can be simple.

Simple is not the same as easy. Einstein had a wonderful quote, “Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler.”

Are you wondering what you’re going to do with this information? Fabulous question and here’s an equally great answer. First off, relax with it. Awareness is the first step toward change. Think about something you’ve wanted but have not pulled into your reality. Is the Law of Repulsion operating to some degree? Make a change remembering that the change could be as small a fine tuning as 1%!

Should the change require a larger  movement, let’s say 49%, do not go into overwhelm. This is an appropriate time to remember that baby steps are what you need. Be sure to give yourself encouragement and acknowledge every step you take toward your desire. When it comes to creating abundance there are two laws, the Law of Attraction and the Law of Repulsion. Be aware of both!
