We are all aware that we have a subconscious mind. Many of us will even place the blame of our activities on the subconscious. How many of us though realize the power of the subconscious mind? It is one of our most powerful tools, and it can either be our best friend or our worse enemy. The subconscious mind ultimately controls the life you live. What exactly is the subconscious mind and why should we pay attention to what it is thinking?

Now, when it comes to your subconscious mind, you’re the one who controls those thoughts. You may not feel like you do at first, but when you train it properly the results will be evident. Your subconscious thoughts are basically a mind within your mind that takes a different route to the normal thought process. The usual time when this occurs is when you’re faced with a difficult decision or situation.

We like to call it your mind within the mind. Usually subconscious mind power works randomly. It could surface in the most interesting areas of the day for even the littlest thing. Maybe you were making coffee before work and your inner voice said something like, ‘If I don’t add another scoop, the coffee is going to taste weak.’ The only problem is the majority of the people out there won’t listen to it, which results in making weak coffee or something else. It’s all about negative thoughts and where they will take you.

Unfortunately, people tend to overlook their subconscious mind even though most of the thoughts are negative. Did you know that you’ve been training your subconscious for several years without even knowing it? It’s true and it’s why you’ve harbored negative feelings towards things for quite some time. While this is true, there are ways to effectively change those negatives into positives.

A great starting point to get the life you’ve always desired is through affirmation. This is a continuous pattern you hear or see over and over again until your subconscious mind is trained to think that way. Society calls these subliminal messages, but we like to just believe its positive thinking. It’s a very effective technique if you can train your subconscious mind properly.

For example, you want to lose weight. Instead of thinking you are fat, repeat to yourself that you are your perfect weight. On a piece of paper you can write down the same phrase and carry it in your pocket, you can tap it to the mirror, make a ring tone out of it, and make it a screensaver at work. The point is to repeat the message enough that the subconscious mind picks up on the fact that this is what you think? and what it needs to be thinking.

The end result will allow you to change your life for the better. Keep in mind that this isn’t something you can change overnight, because you’ve spent years unknowingly training your subconscious mind to believe the negative thoughts. However, when you train properly, the positive thoughts will begin to surface. Here’s an example of one of my students who had to learn the hard way before joining my training sessions.

‘Growing up my parents didn’t have a whole lot of money. When I was 13 I used to cut grass during the summer so I could buy school clothes before the New Year. To be honest, it has always been a struggle. I remember having dinner with the family on many occasions that consisted of eggs and toast. It was the only way I knew how to be even though others were enjoying life on many different levels. Once I grew into an adult, this way of life was already embedded in my subconscious mind and I couldn’t release myself from it.

While the average person is going to shrug this off and say it was coincidence that all of those things happened. There are not such things as coincidences, everything happens for a reason? and that reason is usually your subconscious mind delivering to you the things you think about.

In recent years films and books like ‘The Secret’ have explained this phenomenon in more scientific terms. This has become known as the ‘Law of Attraction’. This says that our subconscious mind not only reacts with and responds to the reality we are experiencing it is actually creating it!

Some of you are probably sitting there laughing or thinking this is crazy talk. Don’t worry, someone else is probably doing the same thing, but those who feel this way are usually the ones who need the most help. Seriously, if you feel this way right now your subconscious mind is giving you negative thoughts.

So if we do create our own reality with our subconscious mind, then with practice we can choose what kind of reality we experience! Some of the richest people in the world throughout history have realized this fact and have manifested incredible wealth by consistently visualizing clearly exactly what they want and communicating this to their subconscious mind.
