Are you trying to cope with the death of your boyfriend or do you know someone who is? Well this is a painful situation to be in. You need to be able to have some strength and hear some encouragement words from your friends and loved ones.

There are certain things feeling that you go through when trying to heal or when dealing with the death of a loved one. Below is a list of some of the most promonent ones – hopefully you will realise that you are not alone and you are on your way to healing.

Disbelief

Disbelief is the first feeling that comes when you are told about some bad news especially the loss of someone you love. This is made worse by the fact that you may have just seen your boyfriend or just talked to him over the phone. This feeling may take a while to subside. In most occasions it lasts up to the day of the funeral.

Shock

In most cases shock is triggered by seeing the person actually dead. It could be at the morgue or at the memorial service. This is when you start to take in as reality gives you no choice but face what has happened. Compared to the other emotions, it is easy to get through this one.

Anger

You may be angry at the world, at people who were there when this happened or at yourself. If you do not properly manage anger, it can get really destructive. You need to watch what you say and think during the time. Try to find some daily words of encouragement to help you cope.

Pain

Here is one feeling that never seems to go away. This is where you may need to consistently hear words of encouragement. Pain is deadly. It feels like a thorn that mercilessly prickles the heart beyond what human nature can bare. No matter how it feels, it goes away eventually. Memories never go away, yes but the heart ache stops at some point.

Pain comes with helplessness and sometimes regret. No matter what you go through, no matter the years you spend grieving, the pain due to the loss of your boyfriend does go away eventually.
