Magic Tricks the Professionals use to Stay Motivated
It’s not always straight-forward to stay motivated when you’re trying to achieve your goal. Some experts say that the results themselves should be enough to inspire unwavering focus toward success. There is an element of truth to that statement. Unfortunately, the reality is that the challenges of striving for a particular goal can sometimes cause us to lose focus.
Want to live healthier, or save up for a new house, or get better grades? Don’t worry…whatever you’re trying to accomplish, the following tips can help you stay motivated and on track.
1. Visualize the End Result
Just see yourself pounds lighter and fitting into that perfect outfit? The most important aspect of this technique is to really understand the feelings you will experience at the end of the road. Healthier? Sexier? More self-confident? When you develop the ability to visualize your goals and imagine what the end results will be, you are more likely to stay motivated.
A “dream board” can be very helpful to many people. A “dream board” is an arrangement of images representative of your goal. For instance, your goal is to save money for a tropical beach vacation, then you would place some travel brochures somewhere where you can see them every day. Many people are skeptical at first, but this is one of the best magic tricks you could have in your arsenal.
2. Set Intermediate Goals and Reward Yourself for Small Victories
In this fast-paced world people want immediate results. But, the most worthwhile goals usually require a great deal of effort and time to accomplish. Don’t let that distract you. By setting smaller goals, you can work on each step that will eventually add up to big results in the end.
A great addition to this step is to reward yourself when you reach small milestones along the way. Knowing that there are little “treats” along the journey to your goal will keep you excited and motivated.
3. Draw Inspiration from Others
Surrounding yourself with quotes or inspirational people will help remind you that everyone worked hard to get where they wanted. Better yet, join networking clubs and attend events where you can find others who have achieved what you’re working toward. Keep an open mind, one of the most successful people I met was a man that ran a small magic shop in the next town over!
Find a partner who is also striving toward an accomplishment, and you’ll experience the magic of motivating each other toward success.
These three tips: Visualizing the end result, celebrating small victories along the way and drawing inspiration and encouragement from others are effective, easy-to-implement methods of staying motivated when you want to finally accomplish your goals. Good luck!
