The New Combination Of Intellect And Sex Appeal
Intellect has traditionally been considered to be something less than desirable when it comes to dating or marriage. Yet with the new definition of sexy intellect, social structure is changing. While once deemed forever as the geek or the nerd, those with intense intellectual interest and abilities are now becoming the hot ticket item on the adult dating scene.
It’s far past time that the general public recognized the value of a fantastic mind, but it is now finally doing exactly that. There are changes happen among the intellectual, including bulking up when necessary and figuring out how to lose weight fast when needed. Analysis has allowed the lean muscle growth in bodies that have never been athletic. Gyms and spas are now filled with men waxing for that additional appeal. The core of the stereotypical judgment is breaking down.
It would be nice to believe that as a society we decided to be more accepting. Well, we did, but only because of media influence. Movies and television are changing the way they represent the intellectual characters. They are now beautiful women with IQ scores that are off the charts. They are hot guys that can spew forth some of the most intricate mathematical equations while flicking back their enviable hair. When the public started to notice the destruction of the old stereotype, there were changes throughout all social groups.
With the increase in media attention, those who are locally known for their intelligence suddenly found themselves in a new kind of stereotype. It’s all about combining every available quality, which puts pressure on those who still prefer books to social engagements. Intellect is the new ‘jock’ and giving the whole picture an attractive package has increased expectations.
When we all look and evaluate people, we tend to evaluate a number of things at once. We take in their physical appearance, the confidence level they portray, their ability to relate, and their overall basic intelligence. This allows us to determine whether we wish to continue contact or whether we prefer to engage elsewhere. It’s common and natural.
As we start to blur the lines of stereotypes we start to find positive and negative impacts. Social expectation is more challenging, as those who are more likely to be naturally attracted to each other may not be able to instantly recognize that fact. Society is offering us a chance to start changing, and fear of socializing with someone ‘out of category’ may hold that back.
Anyone can improve any quality they want to. Whether you’ve been stuck in an intellectual grouping all your life or you’ve been dumped in the beauty with no brains section, you have the capacity to refrain from adhering to any stereotype unless you want to.
